The 10U Rippers teams finished first and second at the 2012 Ice Breaker Tournament in DuQuoin, Illinois held January 21-22, 2012. The championship game was all Rippers as both of the 10U teams battled it out. The Rippers '02 finished first and the Rippers '01 finished second. The Rippers '02 finished the tournament undefeated. The Rippers defeated the Dirt Dawgs, Salem Sluggers and the Dirt Diamonds.
The 16U team finished second at the 2012 Special Olympics Tournament in DuQuoin, Illinois, held January 13 - 15, 2012. The Rippers finished 5-2, with wins over the Dream Team, St. Louis Fusion, Lady Bullets, and the Southern Steel. Other teams in the tournament were the Southern Express, West Frankfort Blitz, Clarksville Patriots, Southern Impact, and Southern Storm. The Dream Team won the tournament, there only loss was to the Rippers.

Downstate Rippers
Our organization has expanded beyond any of the founding members expectations in the past six years. We are excited by the enthusiasm and talent displayed by the players and the dedication displayed by the parents.
In the 2011-2012 season we will field 8u, 10u, 12u, 14u, and 16u teams. The Downstate Rippers Softball Organization is based out of Southern Illinois but we have had girls play for us all over the region from river to river and beyond - as far north as Centralia, IL and as far south as Murray, KY.
